OUR AIM
Is to support, educate and assist, all artists, galleries, communities, associated businesses and all art enthusiasts throughout our region and beyond.
WHO WE ARE
Artists of Crows Nest in Queensland was originally established in 2013 with a very small group of enthusiasts. Since then, we have grown to welcome more than 83 members. We are a diverse group who enjoy creating and viewing art, developing new techniques, and broadening our knowledge and experiences. Artists of Crows Nest (AoCN) has an established network in place with social media sites Facebook and Instagram.
Art works from group members are displayed in the Nest Cafe in Crows Nest on a two month change over schedule. The works on show are mostly for sale and created with a designated theme for each installation period. Whilst the Nest Cafe has been a longtime supporter, we also display work in other venues such as Rosalie House Cellar Door Restaurant (every four months) and Wendlands Fine Food Cafe in Toowoomba on a less regular basis. Check out our Workshops and Events Page for information about our up-and-coming activities.
Our works have been exhibited in several regional galleries and we work towards securing two gallery locations annually.
AoCN work closely with the community and run regular one day beginner workshops with some of our members providing the tutoring and sharing their knowledge of their favourite medium. We also arrange professional tutors to continue our personal artistic development. Often these are weekend workshops.
Our group has held several annual exhibitions for members in the Crows Nest Community Hall where work is displayed for sale, and artists demonstrate and run introductory workshops.
AoCN members are constantly engaging in events around the region showcasing members talents, raising money for our organization and interacting with the public.
